The resolution acknowledges the significant impact of volunteers and organizations like Make-A-Wish on communities and highlights that since the first wish was granted in 1980 to a young boy named Chris Greicius who wanted to be a police officer, over 350,000 children worldwide have had their wishes fulfilled by Make-A-Wish, which is now the world's largest wish-granting organization operating in nearly 50 countries. This day serves as an occasion to express gratitude to all those who support the organization's mission, including donors, volunteers, medical professionals, sponsors, and the families and children themselves, and a copy of this resolution will be sent to Make-A-Wish International.
