This bill, known as "The Equity in Fertility Treatment Act," expands the definition of infertility to include a person's inability to reproduce without medical intervention or a physician's findings based on medical history, age, or testing, and mandates that large group health insurance policies provide coverage for three completed oocyte retrievals (egg retrievals) and in-vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments, including unlimited embryo transfers from fresh or frozen eggs or embryos, following guidelines for single embryo transfer when medically appropriate, and prohibits denial of coverage based on participation in fertility services provided by or to a third party.
