This bill authorizes the State of Mississippi, through its State Bond Commission, to issue up to $500,000 in general obligation bonds to fund improvements for the Old Union Water Association in Lee County. These bonds, which will be repaid using the full faith and credit of the state, will provide money for the construction, repair, replacement, upgrades, improvements, and additions to the association's water system and related infrastructure. The funds will be held in a dedicated "2026 Old Union Water Association Improvements Fund," and any remaining money after the projects are completed will be used to pay off the bonds. The bonds will mature within twenty-five years and can be issued until July 1, 2030, with the act taking effect on July 1, 2026.
