This bill proposes to remove "aesthetics" as a factor that the Public Utility Commission must consider when issuing a certificate of public good, which is a required permit for new energy projects in Vermont. Previously, the commission had to ensure that such projects would not have an undue adverse effect on aesthetics, among other environmental and public safety concerns, before granting approval. The bill also makes a minor technical correction to a cross-reference within the law.
