This bill requires that when someone sells or transfers land that is not part of an incorporated city or town (meaning it's "unincorporated"), they must give the buyer a written statement. This statement must inform the buyer that the property's boundaries could be affected by things like adverse possession (where someone can gain ownership of land by using it openly and continuously for a certain period), boundary by acquiescence (where boundaries are established by the long-term agreement of neighboring landowners), or a right-of-way granted under the state's Right-Of-Way Act. After this statement is provided, both the seller and the buyer must sign it, and this new requirement will become law on May 6, 2026.
