This bill requires restaurants to enhance food allergy awareness by mandating that the State Health Commissioner (the head of the Department of Health) create and publish a notice on the Department's website in English and the top six other languages spoken in the Commonwealth, detailing procedures for restaurant staff to follow when a customer has a food allergy, including preventing cross-contact and responding to allergic reactions, with recommendations on when to call for emergency medical services. Restaurants must then post this notice in a visible location accessible to all food preparation and service staff, in any of the languages the notice is available in that are spoken by their employees. Additionally, restaurants must prominently display the phrase "If you have a food allergy, please notify us," along with its translation if available, on their menus or on a sign, and if they offer menus online, they must also include this notification and a way for customers to indicate allergies.
