This bill authorizes the State of Mississippi to issue up to $4,000,000 in general obligation bonds to help Pike County fund costs associated with a bridge project on U.S. Highway 51 within the Pike County Industrial Park. The State Bond Commission, referred to as the "Commission," will manage the issuance and sale of these bonds, which will be backed by the full faith and credit of the state. The proceeds will be deposited into a dedicated fund, the "2026 Pike County U.S. Highway 51 Bridge Project Fund," and disbursed to Pike County for the bridge project. Any remaining funds after the project's completion will be used to pay off the bonds. The bonds will mature within twenty-five years and will be exempt from state taxation. This act will take effect on July 1, 2026, and no bonds can be issued under this section after July 1, 2030.
