This bill amends existing Arizona law to expand the duties of the Arizona Geological Survey and the Mining, Mineral and Natural Resources Educational Museum Advisory Council. Specifically, it adds a requirement for the Arizona Geological Survey, in coordination with the advisory council, to promote the history of the state, including the importance of the "five C's" which are defined as copper, cattle, citrus, climate, and cotton. The bill also updates the duties of the advisory council to include assisting in promoting the history of the state and the five C's, and clarifies that the university of Arizona should accept the council's recommendations if deemed practicable and in the best interest of the museum by the state geologist.
