This bill amends existing Arizona law to direct a portion of transaction privilege tax (TPT) revenues to the Arizona Highway User Revenue Fund. Specifically, it adds a new section to the tax code that requires ten percent of state TPT collected from businesses leasing or renting customer-facing electric vehicle charging stations accessible to the public, under the personal property rental classification, to be deposited into the Highway User Revenue Fund. This fund is used for highway-related purposes. The bill also clarifies that these charging station rental revenues will be accounted for separately by the Department of Revenue for the purposes of this new distribution. Additionally, the bill updates the definition of "highway user revenues" to include revenues from this new category of charging station rentals.
