AI Summary

This bill modifies Mississippi law to extend the registration renewal period for charitable organizations, professional fund-raisers, fund-raising counsels, and professional solicitors from annually to every three to five years, at the discretion of the Secretary of State. This change aims to reduce administrative burdens for these entities by requiring less frequent renewals and filings. The bill also adjusts the frequency of financial reporting for certain charitable organizations to align with the new registration renewal cycle, meaning financial statements will now be required every three to five years instead of annually, depending on the organization's contribution levels and whether they use paid or unpaid staff for fundraising. The legislation also makes conforming amendments to related sections of the Mississippi Code to ensure consistency with these extended renewal periods.
