This resolution ratifies amendments to a comprehensive state-wide water management plan that was originally developed by the Environmental Protection Division of the Department of Natural Resources and adopted by the Water Council. The original plan was approved by the General Assembly and the Governor in 2008. The Water Council later considered and adopted amendments to this plan on December 9, 2025, and submitted them to the General Assembly for ratification, as required by state law (specifically, Code Section 12-5-525 of the O.C.G.A.). The resolution confirms that these amendments are now officially approved and will have legal effect, but clarifies that if any part of the amended water management plan conflicts with a state law passed by the General Assembly, the state law will take precedence.
