This bill amends existing law to ensure that state agencies and local jurisdictions that are mobilized under the Washington state fire services mobilization plan are reimbursed in a timely manner. The Washington state fire services mobilization plan is a system for coordinating fire services across the state during emergencies. The bill requires the Washington state patrol, in consultation with the office of financial management and the Washington military department, to develop procedures for this reimbursement. Specifically, the Washington state patrol must now ensure that reimbursements are made to the host district and to mobilized state agencies and jurisdictions within 60 days of receiving complete and accurate documentation for the reimbursement, as required by the plan. This change aims to expedite the financial recovery process for entities that provide fire services during state-mobilized events.
