This bill establishes the "Missouri Guaranteed Inclusive Voluntary Exceptional Service (MO GIVES) Program" to support members of the Missouri National Guard who choose to become living organ donors, allowing them to remain on paid status during the entire living donation process, which includes testing, surgery, and recovery, for up to 45 days, with potential extensions if medically necessary. To participate, members must be in specific National Guard statuses, be in good standing, either not have employer-provided paid leave for donation or choose not to use it, specify the type of organ donation, and agree to undergo the procedure at an approved healthcare facility. Approved participants will receive guaranteed paid leave, be exempt from using their own accrued leave, and receive a per diem and housing allowance based on their rank, location, and dependents, with funds for the program coming from a dedicated "MO GIVES Fund" established in the state treasury.
