This bill directs the director of the office of the aging, in consultation with the commissioner of mental health, to establish a caregiver crisis hotline. This hotline will be a toll-free, 24/7 statewide telephone service offering emotional support resources for informal caregivers, defined as family members or other individuals who normally provide daily care or supervision for someone needing assistance due to mental or physical impairment, regardless of whether they live together. The hotline will also include a language assistance line to help those with limited or no English proficiency, and the bill specifies that a "person in need of supervision" can include individuals under 18 with such impairments.
