This resolution establishes the Nebraska Economic Development Task Force, a group tasked with improving economic development in the state by monitoring, analyzing, and recommending policies and priorities. The task force will also develop long-range strategic plans and gather input from entities like the Department of Economic Development and the Department of Labor to foster economic and workforce growth. Membership will consist of three legislators appointed by the Executive Board of the Legislative Council, along with the chairs (or their designees) of several key legislative committees: Appropriations, Banking, Commerce and Insurance, Business and Labor, Revenue, the Planning Committee, and Urban Affairs. The task force will elect its own chairperson and vice-chairperson, is required to meet at least quarterly when the Legislature is not in session, and must submit a report of its findings and recommendations to the Legislature by December 31, 2026.
