This bill, in accordance with Alabama's Sunset Law, which requires periodic review of state agencies to determine if they should continue to exist, extends the life of the Alabama Private Investigation Board until October 1, 2028. The Alabama Private Investigation Board is responsible for regulating private investigators in the state, and its continued existence and the laws governing it, found in Sections 34-25B-1 to 34-25B-54 of the Code of Alabama 1975, are preserved by this bill. The Legislature is concurring with the recommendations of the Sunset Committee to continue the board. This act will become effective on June 1, 2026.
