This resolution highly commends Mountain Brook Police Officer Richard Knecht for his dedicated service and commitment to school safety, particularly in his role as the School Resource Officer (SRO) for Mountain Brook High School. Officer Knecht was recognized with the Safe Schools Leadership Award at The Alabama Association of School Resource Officers (TAASRO) Conference for his outstanding contributions, an honor nominated by local officials. He also achieved the elite designation of TAASRO School Safety Specialist, a recognition requiring extensive training and experience in school safety protocols. Furthermore, Officer Knecht has served on the TAASRO Board and was part of the Mountain Brook Police Department team that received the SRO Team Award. Beyond his official duties, he has demonstrated a personal commitment to community well-being by creating an Autism Awareness patch to raise funds and awareness for Autism Spectrum Disorder. The resolution expresses heartfelt gratitude, respect, and best wishes to Officer Knecht for his impactful work.
