This bill requires video game manufacturers to ensure their games are rated by the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) or a similar organization, and that this rating, along with a suggested age appropriateness level, is clearly displayed on the game's packaging or at the point of sale if 25 or more units have been sold in Alabama. Additionally, manufacturers must provide detailed explanations for the game's rating on a publicly accessible website. A "video game" is defined as any interactive electronic game played on various devices and displayed on a screen. Violations of this act will be treated as violations of the Deceptive Trade Practices Act, and the bill is set to take effect on October 1, 2026.
