This bill requires each county welfare agency in New Jersey to direct clients to and promote the use of the Department of the Treasury's free personal finance web-based platform, or any future similar platform provided by the state, as an alternative or supplement to financial planning services that may be offered by agency staff. The bill also mandates that agencies promote the availability of both their own financial planning services, if offered, and the state's online platform on their websites and in their physical offices, replacing a previous requirement for agencies to provide free financial planning services upon client request via qualified staff.
