This bill prohibits the Department of Health (department) from issuing recommendations or regulations that are more stringent than recommendations or regulations issued by the federal government. Under the bill, the department is not to issue any guideline, recommendation, directive, rule, regulation, or take any other administrative action that is more stringent than any comparable: 1) guideline, mandate, or recommendation that is issued by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention or any other or federal agency, department, or entity; or 2) guideline, mandate, or recommendation that is prescribed by any federal law, rule, regulation, or order. The bill is to be retroactive to any guideline, recommendation, directive, rule, regulation, or any other administrative action issued or taken by the department on or before the bill's effective date.
