These systems must continuously record activity and retain footage for at least 30 days, making it available to state departments or law enforcement upon request for investigations into animal cruelty, consumer fraud, or other relevant laws. Facilities that fail to comply will face civil penalties, with a first offense incurring a fine of up to $500 and subsequent offenses up to $1,000 per day of violation, with enforcement handled by the Department of Agriculture in conjunction with the Division of Consumer Affairs.
