This bill establishes the New Jersey Task Force on Coordination Among Nonprofit Social Service Organizations, a group tasked with developing recommendations to improve how social service organizations in the state work together. The task force will aim to achieve this by encouraging shared services to cut administrative costs, forming partnerships to avoid duplicating efforts, and creating standardized ways for these organizations to report their spending to government officials and the public. The task force will be composed of 18 members, including commissioners from relevant state departments (Children and Families, Community Affairs, Health, and Human Services) serving automatically, and various public members appointed by the Governor, Senate President, and Assembly Speaker, representing a wide range of nonprofit organizations focused on areas like aging, women's support, disabilities, mental health, domestic violence, substance use, homelessness, and environmental advocacy. The School of Social Work at Rutgers University will provide staff support, and the task force will report its findings and recommendations to the Governor and Legislature within 12 months of its first meeting, after which it will expire.
