This bill establishes a dedicated "Civil Air Patrol Fund" within the Department of Military Affairs, which will be a non-lapsing fund, meaning any unspent money will carry over to the next year. This fund will be supported by annual appropriations from the General Fund, increasing the amount from $100,000 to $275,000, as well as any federal or other grants received and public donations. The State Treasurer will manage the fund, and the monies within it will be used by the Department of Military Affairs to support the Civil Air Patrol Wing in the state. The bill also directly appropriates $275,000 to the fund for these purposes and takes effect immediately.
