This bill amends existing law to exempt farm tractors and traction equipment used for farm operations from certain liability coverage requirements applicable to commercial motor vehicles. However, under this bill, owners of registered farm tractors and traction equipment will only be required to maintain commercial motor vehicle liability coverage of at least $300,000 for such damages. This change provides a reduced insurance requirement specifically for these agricultural vehicles, acknowledging their distinct use compared to other commercial vehicles.
