This bill authorizes the chief administrative officer of the Bureau of Workers' Compensation to use funds from the "subsequent injury and vocational recovery fund" to cover the costs of implementing and maintaining a computer system for the bureau, in addition to its existing uses for legal defense and vocational recovery assistance. The bill also makes several technical changes to workers' compensation procedures, such as changing the term "petition" to "file a motion with" when initiating certain actions, requiring compliance with court orders instead of timely responses, and altering the terminology for requesting hearings to "petition for benefit determination." Furthermore, it modifies the criteria for certain benefits by allowing for combined impairment ratings totaling at least ten percent to the body as a whole, determined according to the AMA Guides, from authorized treating physicians, rather than requiring a single physician's certification of at least ten percent impairment.
