This bill mandates that starting in the 2026-2027 school year, all public and charter schools in Mississippi must display a framed copy of the Ten Commandments, at least sixteen inches wide and twenty inches tall, in every classroom, and that school staff and faculty are protected from discrimination or retaliation based on their religious beliefs. Additionally, the bill requires a nondenominational prayer to be broadcast over the PA system and in each classroom at the beginning of each school day, though participation is voluntary for students and faculty who wish not to join, allowing them to remain silent and seated. The bill also specifies that the U.S. flag displayed in each classroom must be at least thirty-six inches long and twenty-four inches tall, and reiterates that no student or faculty member can be forced to participate in the daily prayer or the Pledge of Allegiance.
