Additionally, it allows DHS employees to share contact information and relevant details about an adopted child enrolled in the Children's Specialty Plan with the contracted entity administering that plan to ensure continuity of care for the child. The bill also clarifies that these provisions do not change the general confidentiality of adoption hearings and records, which can only be accessed with a court order for good cause shown, and that unauthorized disclosure of adoption information remains a misdemeanor offense. An emergency clause is included, meaning the act will take effect immediately upon its passage and approval.
