This bill amends existing Oklahoma law to remove references to certain weapons that are no longer considered unlawful to carry or possess while committing a felony. Specifically, it updates Section 1272 of Title 21 of the Oklahoma Statutes, which deals with unlawful carry, by removing "blackjack, loaded cane, hand chain, metal knuckles, or any other offensive weapon" from the list of prohibited items, while still prohibiting the unlawful carry of pistols, revolvers, shotguns, and rifles. It also modifies Section 1287 of Title 21, which addresses the use of a firearm while committing a felony, by removing the phrase "or any other offensive weapon" and clarifying that the penalties apply to possessing a pistol, shotgun, or rifle, or certain imitation or altered weapons. The bill also updates statutory language and sets an effective date of November 1, 2026.
