This bill requires the State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision to create and manage a public database containing information about medical malpractice lawsuits filed against doctors in Oklahoma, which will be accessible on the Board's website and regularly updated while respecting privacy laws. The database will list the physician's name, the type of claim, when the lawsuit was filed, how the case was resolved, any disciplinary actions taken by the Board related to the lawsuit, and links to court documents if available. Physicians will be obligated to report any medical malpractice lawsuits filed against them to the Board within 30 days of learning about it, and the Board will also conduct an educational campaign to inform healthcare providers and the public about the database and its purpose, including its use for making informed healthcare decisions. This new law will take effect on July 1, 2027.
