This bill allows the Board of Medicine to grant a chiropractic license to foreign-trained chiropractors through a process called "licensure by endorsement," meaning they can be licensed based on their existing qualifications rather than having to go through the full initial licensing process. To qualify, an applicant must have a chiropractic degree from a foreign institution recognized in its country, either hold a current, unrestricted license from a foreign jurisdiction with equivalent standards to Virginia or have previously held such a license without disciplinary action, have at least two years of active practice experience, demonstrate no history of disciplinary issues, impairment, or criminal convictions that could endanger patients, be legally authorized to work in the U.S., and have passed specific national chiropractic examinations.
