This bill requires health insurance plans that cover treatments for gender transition to also cover treatments to reverse those transitions. Specifically, it mandates that if a plan covers "hormonal transgender treatment" (defined as treatments related to gender transition, as defined in another section of law) or "sex transition procedures" (which include surgeries to alter primary or secondary sex characteristics, also defined elsewhere), it must also cover any hormonal treatments or surgical procedures necessary to reverse those transitions. This applies to health benefit plans renewed or entered into on or after January 1, 2027, and the bill itself takes effect on May 6, 2026.
