This bill increases the sheriff's service fee in both criminal and juvenile proceedings in Oklahoma. Specifically, for criminal cases, the fee for serving or attempting to serve writs, warrants, orders, or notices, or pursuing fugitives within a county will increase from $50.00 to $150.00, or mileage if greater. The same increase from $50.00 to $150.00 applies to services performed outside of the county, or actual necessary expenses if greater. Similarly, in juvenile cases, the sheriff's fee for serving or attempting to serve various legal documents, or pursuing fugitives, will also increase from $20.00 to $150.00, or mileage if greater. The bill also specifies an effective date of November 1, 2026, for these changes.
