This bill removes the requirement to list the name of a treasurer in attributions for political advertising, which are paid messages that advocate for or against a candidate or a ballot question. Previously, these advertisements, whether published in print, broadcast on radio or television, or distributed as flyers, had to include the name of the sponsoring organization's chairperson or treasurer, or the individual responsible. The bill amends existing laws (K.S.A. 25-2407 and 25-4156) to eliminate the treasurer's name from these disclosure requirements, while still requiring the identification of the sponsoring organization or responsible individual. This change aims to streamline the attribution process for political advertising.
