This bill modifies the quorum requirements for two professional licensing boards within the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation. Specifically, it reduces the number of members needed to conduct official business for the Board for Architects, Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, Certified Interior Designers and Landscape Architects from nine to a smaller, more flexible group that includes at least one engineer, one architect, and one land surveyor, among other required members. Similarly, for the Board for Professional Soil Scientists, Wetland Professionals, and Geologists, the bill lowers the quorum from seven members to a minimum of one professional soil scientist, one professional wetland delineator, and one professional geologist, along with a citizen member. A quorum is the minimum number of members required to be present for a board to legally conduct its business and make decisions.
