This bill, effective January 1, 2027, prohibits the importation, transportation, dispersal, distribution, introduction, sale, or purchase of any non-native (exotic) invasive terrestrial plants within the state, with violations punishable by a fine of up to $500. The director will establish rules and regulations defining these prohibited plants and their applicability, and will maintain a list of these terrestrial invasive plants alongside a list of prohibited aquatic invasive plants, which are also subject to similar prohibitions and penalties.
