The bill also establishes penalties that the Division of Insurance can impose on carriers that fail to properly pay providers for services rendered to patients, and it requires carriers to annually report data to the Division about how often patients use out-of-network providers. Furthermore, the Division of Insurance will be required to produce an annual report summarizing this data, along with information about dispute resolution cases, to increase transparency and accountability in the health insurance market.
