The bill also clarifies that the Alabama Medicaid Agency will continue to pay an enhancement to these providers, calculated based on the difference between Medicaid rates and commercial insurer rates, and this enhancement will not exceed the total amount collected from the assessment. The changes made by this bill will become effective on October 1, 2026.
