This bill authorizes the legislative council to allow a Rotary International peace pole monument to be placed in a specific area of the governmental mall, as described in Arizona Revised Statutes section 41-1304.05, subsection B, paragraph 5, with the purpose of promoting world peace. The bill specifies that the standard procedures outlined in Arizona Revised Statutes section 41-1363 will be followed for the monument's establishment, and importantly, it prohibits the use of public money for any costs associated with the monument, making fundraising and all contracts for its design and construction the sole responsibility of the groups proposing it, with the state explicitly forbidden from assisting with fundraising or creating a state fund for donations. This authorization for the monument will expire and be repealed on September 30, 2029.
