This bill authorizes the Board of Risk and Insurance Management to officially adopt a legislative rule concerning mine subsidence insurance, identified by the code 115 CSR 01. This rule, which was initially filed on July 18, 2025, and subsequently modified to address concerns raised by the Legislative Rule-Making Review Committee before being refiled on August 14, 2025, is being put into effect under the authority granted by section 33-30-15 of the West Virginia Code. Mine subsidence insurance is a type of coverage designed to protect homeowners against damage caused by the collapse of land due to underground mining operations.
