This resolution commends the Alabama Society, Daughters of the American Revolution (ASDAR) and the Alabama Society Sons of the American Revolution (ALSSAR) for their dedicated service to Alabama and the nation. The ASDAR, established in 1894 and affiliated with the national DAR, is recognized for its over 4,000 members in 71 chapters who promote patriotism, preserve history, and support education, notably through founding and sustaining the Kate Duncan Smith DAR School which educates over 1,300 students. The ALSSAR, the state chapter of the national Sons of the American Revolution, is honored for its members' documented lineage to Revolutionary War patriots and their commitment to fostering reverence for the principles of the Founding Fathers through commemorating historical events, preserving records and landmarks, and promoting fellowship among descendants, while also recognizing academic achievement and public service. Both organizations are applauded for their enduring legacy and are extended best wishes for future success.
