This bill establishes the "Oklahoma Clean Indoor Air Act" to prohibit smoking in various public and private indoor spaces. Smoking, which includes traditional tobacco products and electronic smoking devices like vapes, will be banned in enclosed areas such as indoor workplaces, government buildings, restaurants, bars, public transportation, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, retail stores, malls, and sports arenas. However, exceptions are made for tobacco shops and cigar bars with proper ventilation and signage, private residences (unless used for childcare or healthcare), designated smoking rooms in hotels, and tribal lands. The law also mandates clear "No smoking" signage at entrances and throughout affected establishments, and the State Department of Health is tasked with creating rules to enforce these provisions, with local governments having the authority to enact even stricter ordinances. This act will take effect on November 1, 2026.
