This bill, effective November 1, 2026, amends Oklahoma law to prohibit the use of Medicaid or SoonerCare funds, which are state and federal programs providing health coverage to low-income individuals, for abortions. Specifically, it prevents these funds from being paid to any entity primarily involved in family planning or reproductive health services that also provides abortions, with two key exceptions: abortions performed in cases of rape or incest, or when a physician certifies that the pregnancy poses a life-endangering physical condition to the woman. The bill also defines "Abortion" for the purposes of this new law by referencing an existing definition in Oklahoma Statutes.
