This bill prohibits public schools and school districts in Oklahoma from being members of any association or organization that has certain diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) practices, which are defined as granting preferential treatment based on race, color, ethnicity, or national origin, promoting DEI policies, requiring DEI statements from job applicants, or giving preferential consideration based on DEI. Public schools and districts must review their memberships for compliance and notify organizations of any noncompliance, giving them fifteen days to correct the issue before membership termination. By July 1, 2026, and annually thereafter, schools must submit a certificate of compliance to the State Board of Education, which is authorized to create rules to implement these provisions, and the bill declares an emergency, meaning it will take effect immediately upon passage.
