The bill also mandates that schools provide necessary applications, instructions, and assistance to parents and guardians for free and reduced-price meal programs, and crucially, prohibits schools from penalizing or publicly identifying students who cannot pay for meals or have accrued meal debt, including actions like denying meals, serving alternative meals, or withholding diplomas.
