This bill amends Arizona law to require the Director of the Department of Water Resources to include specific detailed information in their five-year water supply and demand assessments for each groundwater basin. These assessments, which are conducted annually for at least six basins and cover all basins and initial active management areas every five years, will now include data on the average depth to groundwater, changes in that depth over time, bedrock depth, the number and spacing of monitoring wells, the estimated volume of groundwater in storage, the estimated number of years of groundwater supply remaining, and details on stormwater and groundwater recharge projects and their impact. The bill removes the previous requirement for these assessments to be completed by December 1st of each year and removes the phrase "thereafter" from the existing law.
