This bill amends Arizona law to remove the requirement that a minor's written consent for an abortion must be notarized. Previously, a physician performing an abortion on a pregnant unemancipated minor had to obtain written and notarized consent from a parent or guardian, or secure judicial authorization if the minor was deemed mature or if the abortion was in her best interest. The bill removes the "notarized" aspect of the consent and also removes language related to the notary's statement and journal entries, making the consent process simpler by eliminating the need for a notary public's involvement.
