This bill defines a "large load data center" as a facility primarily storing and processing digital data, housing extensive computer and network systems, and requiring at least fifty megawatts of power monthly, and requires public utilities providing electricity to these centers to file updated tariffs with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, which will include a surcharge for these large data centers during peak demand periods on the electrical grid. The collected surcharge money will be transferred to the Corporation Commission and deposited into a newly created "Grid Modernization Revolving Fund," which is a continuing fund intended for modernizing the state's electric grid, and the Commission is authorized to create rules to implement these provisions, with the act becoming effective on November 1, 2026.
