This bill amends existing Arizona law to formally define "apprenticeship" as a structured, earn-and-learn training model combining paid on-the-job learning with technical instruction to develop skilled workers in recognized occupations. It also clarifies that the Department of Economic Security (DES) is the state's registration agency for apprenticeship functions required by the federal government. Furthermore, the bill mandates that registered apprenticeships must include written agreements, defined work processes and training plans, progressive wage increases, proper supervision and safety training, and the issuance of certificates of completion upon successful program fulfillment.
