The bill also significantly increases the allowable average monthly volume of incidental milk sales from 100 gallons to 1,500 gallons and removes the requirement for a specific permit for selling ungraded raw milk or milk products, thereby repealing a previous section of law that mandated such a permit. Additionally, any farmer or producer selling these ungraded raw milk products must clearly label the containers to inform consumers that the product is raw or unpasteurized, state the fill date, and disclose if the product has not been licensed, regulated, or inspected. The bill also declares an emergency, meaning it will take effect immediately upon passage and approval.
