Furthermore, it requires monthly reports to county sheriffs detailing individuals supervised, their crimes, and supervision levels, and adds a provision that private probation providers cannot simultaneously offer private probation and other compensated services from a human services program to the same defendant unless specific conditions, including written consent and proximity of other providers, are met. The bill also specifies that if a private probation provider determines a defendant needs specific services, they must provide a list of available human services programs for the defendant to choose from. Finally, it sets an effective date of May 6, 2026.
